Amendment to Resolution

Arh....

Just want to change my No. 10 resolution from:

Strike Lottery ------> Stop sprouting Vulgarities. (Thanks Beautiful friends who remind me of it)

Actually there is one more resolution to add on:

- STOP SHAKING LEGS (but think this one is beyond my ability.)

Going to Guangzhou in a couple of hours time... Looking forward to the cold weather :)

2008 passed in a jifty and now it is already 2009.
I did not managed to do any reflection and we are already into the new year.
Well, will keep the reflection to end of this year then.

1) Eat less fried food
2) Exercise More
3) Quit my Job
4) Learn a foreign language
5) Spend more time with my Grandparents
6) Spend lesser money
7) Learn a new Software
8) Go to Church regularly/Pray Everyday
9) Dine lesser in restaurants
10) Strke the lottery

WEll, 10 is hard to keep, shall not antagonise myself any further...

F.I.R.Concert

F.I.R Concert Singapore - 8th Aug 2008

I have been wanting to catch the F.I.R. concert, but was holding back on booking the tickets as i felt i had better use for that amount of dough.



However, I'm SO BLESSED! The Lord is Good and he always sends nice surprises to delight me!

Nearing the end of the concert, the guitarist, Real [Huang Han Qing], mentioned that Faye and himself wants to thank their Best Friend for always being there for them and this person is "Shang Di".

Did not know that they were Christians till now...

This again tells me how good and giving the Lord is.

Hair Extensions

Went to Macau/Guangzhou with Ben last month.

Beside loosing some $$ at the Casinos, the other highlight of the trip are my Hair Extensions.

My Colleagues have succumb to calling me "Si Nan Tao" , literally translated as "Dead Man Head" as they have deduced that my long hair extensions were taken from a corpse.

I think they are just JEALOUS of my long lucious hair, so its okay, i can live with this term for the time being...

My Family hates the extensions. They just simply hate it. My Mum is bugging me to remove them.

Well, a peep of my extensions:

Really, whether you like it or not, i am ENJOYING my hair extensions. They are made of real human hair ( i saw split ends on some)!.

BTW, i just had a perm. Yes, i permed my real hair together with my Extensions.

This is the 1st time that i actually like my permed Hair.

Tiara wants to snip off my hair and tie them to her locks. i better beware of her.

If you are curious on how much i spent on my extensions:

It cost me RMB4/bundle.

I did approx 250bundles = total damage of nearly SGD200

My Digital perm cost me SGD180 + SGD22 (hair cream)

So now, my "Si nan Tao" is worth SGD402. (i F***ING better look good!)

Saturday With Angel

I am not too good of a God-Ma and it does bother me some how.

Angel was born on 4th Mar 08. From then till now (almost 5 months), i have only seen her 4 times.

Think i must really make an effort to spend more time with her.

1st Blog for the Year

6 months into 2008 and this is my first entry.

Only one word can explain this phenomenon, i have been FU**IN* BUZYzzzzz

Not diddling (Yenni's new word) under the SUN, But working my ASS off.

Short but Sweet. 2008 entails many Bitter/Sweet memorable events for me.

1) I am a GOD-MA.

See my god daughter (ANGEL ZHEN YU HAN) when she is lesser than a week old.

2) Took Part in The AIR SHOW as an Exibitor,

3) First Time Going on a Cruise, SuperStar Virgo (14th Mar 08 to 16th Mar 08) - no pics for keepsake as we did not bring our CAMERA,

4) First time going to CHINA, WUXI, (some pics of my very nice hotel room), but it was a Roller Coaster of Emotions prior going for this trip. I so did not want to go that i had sleepless nights, but in the end, i felt that i benefited a lot from this trip.

5) Went for FISH SPA with my colleagues @ KenKo (Singapore Flyer) (9th May08) - once again, no pics.

6) The Passing of Ben's Grandad (11th May to 15th May) - the whole Funeral Process left me very worn out. I slept so much after the whole process and AM still recovering from the aftermath. It was work in the day and being at the funeral at night. The food at the funeral left such a unappetizing taste to my palette that till today, i am having problems having Chinese food esp "Zhi Cha".



7) WeekEnd Getaway with Ben @ Down Town East (7th March to 9th March), just the 2 of us to celebrate out 2nd Wedding Anniversary. Went to WWW, had a BBQ and invited my family members. It was indeed HAPPY times togather.



8) Finished a 3 month Course (Jan08 to Mar08) at SIMM - well, itchy backside me, wanted to have a taste on how to juggle studies and work, realised that it is not my cup of tea.



9) Jie Mei at Kenneth's & Katherine's Wedding (30th Apr) whereby one of the Jie Mei is a MALE. This is so "Maid of Honour".



10) Attended a Wedding Lunch at Grand Corpthorn (27th Apr, Derek's Wedding) - This is my ever first Wedding Lunch (not counting ROM lunches).


11) Stated to serve as an Ursher in Church.



12) Balloted for the flat that we wanted so much, got a choice number (Apr 08) but decided to forsake our chance as it is too expansive. This was really a heart-wrecking decision and it opened a can of worms which Ben and i had to face and stop sweeping the dest underneath the carpet. Well, times like this really bring a couple to the realities of this world, where we start questioing about the society that we live in.



13) Have not cooked for quite a while and decided to try out my culinery skills by cooking 2 new self thought "creation"" (19th Apr)

LOVE: YENNI

New Years Eve

The last of 2007 was spent with a bunch of old friends, Friends i partied hard with in my younger days...

After a hearty meal at Fish and Co, we headed to Velvet for a night of Merry Making.

Entrace Fee was so un-alluring at a woping $48/pax... Well... Its New Years Eve after all.
We ordered so much drinks - Long island teas, shots of Sex on the Beach, Vodka Red Bull, Vodka Ribena, Beer, etc... However, i am glad that both Ben and myself weren't washed out and we were able to drive home.
Helium filled Ballons Covered the cellings of Velvet and the Wine Bar. Whistles and Poppers were given out to Welcome 2008. It was a pity that i did not take any pictures.

After the whole partying is over, i evaluated. Though i enjoyed the company of my friends, i think this is definitely not my cup of tea to finish off a year. I used to love going to clubs, but now i have outgrown this interest. Guess 2008 entails me to move on, to age gracefully...

2) Sandy and Andy - 22nd Dec 2007 (6pm to late): For letting us come over to your Mum's house and making such a DIN! Thanks for all the lovely presents, the wonderful food, the Christmas ambience, the beautiful cutleries and most important, the wonderful time to mingle with all the lovely guest... I am so touch that you made an effort to do this even though you are pregnant and its so tiring to organise a party with a stomache!

3) Aunty Cad and Uncle David - 23rd Dec 2007 (4pm till late): No words can express how i feel towards this couple. They give 100% to make their guest feel at home and spare no expense to make all feel so Delighted- from the catered food - LEMON GRASS Thai and CHINESE DIM SUM to the wonderful Bubbly and the tons of presents... And not forgetting the Must Have Christmas Carolling (sing-a-long)! I wished i had videoed the scene!

4) Vincent and Angeline - 27th Dec 2007 (6pm till late) : Thanks for opening your very beautiful home to us ALWAYS... you are always so delighted to let us Mess around in your KITCHEN preparing food for the STEAMBOAT! Ben and Myself love hanging out at your place. A pat on the back for Angeline, who also is pregnant to allow us to ransack your drawers and fridge, to allow the guys to game till so late!

5) Gwen and the SF Girls - 28th Dec 2007 (12noon till 3pm): Thanks for making reservations. To the SF gals, i always have such good times together with you wild girls! All TALK is possible with you pals... its like NO REERVATIONS with the SF gals! can't wait for the next gathering in FEB08!

Misfortunes for Christmas

Christmas is Suppose to be Great!
Well it is.... UP to certain extend.

But i ran into some misfortunes...

1) Christmas Eve:

7pm and still in office working.

2) Christmas Day:

Suppose to go to church with Ben but he decided to back out.

Carried a Heavy luggage and put it in the Car's boot. Left the key in the boot and slamped the cover closed. Left with a key-less Yenni who cannot make her way to Church as the key was in the boot.

Walked to MIL house to get the spare keys.

Reached Church Car park and it was full. Public Car park opp Church was full.

Stupid old F*** Uncle reverse and hit into my car, nothing major though. Since its Christmas so lao nia do not want to pick a fight.

Decided to park at Junction 8 finally. Waited for SBS Bus but no bus came. How to make it to church? i'm already 45mins late!

Decided not to go church eventually. Ended up watching Alvin and the Chipmunks on Chrismas morning alone.

** Running In the Rain **

Saturday - 8th Dec 2007, 11pm

Warming up for a Jog with Ben @ East Coast.

We love Night Jogging @ East Coast.

No Sun, A light breeze, competing with the flora for Oxygen.

But this faithful day, half way through the jog it started to drizzle.

I decided to head back for the starting point, increasing my pace.

However, the drizzle became bigger droplets and the sky unfolded.

Rain was beating against my face, my vision blurred, my clothes soaked.

There was no shelter nearby, i just continued to run...

I have to admit, i enjoyed the moment.

Drenched yet Happy - going back to 8, when i got out of the awaiting school bus and played in the rain!

The cold wind shivered my physical body, But the freedom was calming enough.

There is this unspoken warmth - spiritually, that enabled me to enjoy this lovely moment - Running in the Rain - together with the LOVE of my Life...

Crazy Christmas

When was the last time you caught a musical by a Local production?




Well it has been quite a while. The last local play i caught was Cabaret in July 2006 by Beatrice Chia and Fei Xiang... That turned out to be tad of a Disappointment...




Decided to give "Crazy Christmas" a try.




And it turned out to be a lovely assemble. Enjoyed it very much that i have booked tickets for the replay of: "Dim Sum Dollies - The History of Singapore".

Standard Chartered Marathon

Woke up at 5am this Morning....

Have not waken up at such obscene hours for a very long time.

Its the BIG DAY! For Ben!

It's his first Marathon and he was running with 2 of his buddies... (Patrick and Eric)

My Lao Gong is running the Stan Chart Marathon BUT he is starting it small taking the 10km route.

Well, my brother is law is doing the 42km and my gal friend Lynn is doing the 21KM. I am so proud of them... It really takes great determination and discipline and what i call a "mind over body" attitude to run this distance.

I, as a dutiful wife is out to support them with my BEAUTIFUL gal friend Eileen.

Its great Dismay that i did not bring my Camera along... I am so insensitive when it comes to things like these. I could have here an explosion of photos of sweaty bodies....

Verdict:

Ben finished his 10km without stopping. He got his medal.

Time taken: Ard 50mins +. (Waiting for stan chart to send us the information as he has this tracking device tied to his shoes. )

The energy there was real good. So much so all 3 of them are thinking of doing the Half Marathon next year...

Well lets see of this materializes...

As for me, i had breakfast with Eieen while they ran, but ended up having the runs...

I'm very proud to have him complete the race though its a mere 10km. Will be there to support him again if he is participating next year...

Red Lappy
