Standard Chartered Marathon

Woke up at 5am this Morning....

Have not waken up at such obscene hours for a very long time.

Its the BIG DAY! For Ben!

It's his first Marathon and he was running with 2 of his buddies... (Patrick and Eric)

My Lao Gong is running the Stan Chart Marathon BUT he is starting it small taking the 10km route.

Well, my brother is law is doing the 42km and my gal friend Lynn is doing the 21KM. I am so proud of them... It really takes great determination and discipline and what i call a "mind over body" attitude to run this distance.

I, as a dutiful wife is out to support them with my BEAUTIFUL gal friend Eileen.

Its great Dismay that i did not bring my Camera along... I am so insensitive when it comes to things like these. I could have here an explosion of photos of sweaty bodies....
Check out this web to see the 10km route taken by the runners:

Verdict:
Ben finished his 10km without stopping. He got his medal.

Time taken: Ard 50mins +. (Waiting for stan chart to send us the information as he has this tracking device tied to his shoes. )

The energy there was real good. So much so all 3 of them are thinking of doing the Half Marathon next year...

Well lets see of this materializes...

As for me, i had breakfast with Eieen while they ran, but ended up having the runs...
: (
I'm very proud to have him complete the race though its a mere 10km. Will be there to support him again if he is participating next year...

Red Lappy

It was the 23rd Sept07 (Sunday)....

There was a slight drizzle outside and i was furiously typing away on my computer when the door bell rang...

"Ding Dong", "Ding Dong"

A peep through the view hole saw Familiar and DEAR faces.

I opened the door, someone came in, handed me something, said a few words and then left as briskly as they came.

I was handed this:

To that Special Someone (S),( Anonymity is requested here) :
Thank you very much. Though its meant for me, Ben LOVES it very much... I am typing this blog not on this new machine as he is using it... Once Again, you guys have to STOP splurging on me. ..

Some pics of the beauty:

I cannot help but buy a cover for my new lappy. A trip to the Apple Centre and i have turned my Mac Book into a Fiery Hot Lappy.

Now i need to learn how to use this. I have alway been a True Blue Windows User.... :0) :0) :0)

Tadah!

She's Quite a Beauty i think....
Tested her out just now. Went for a Short Bladding session @ 11pm @ East Coast.
I Prefer Bladding at night. Can Avoid the Sun you see...
Verdict: Some Crinkling sound on the Left Blades, but otherwise, the going was smooth and less energy exerted to conquer further distances....
I'm $235 poorer....

Ju Shin Jung

I am not going through any Koren Phrase.
I just happen to poke my nose into Korean food recently.

Believed it or not, I took HALF DAY to check out this Korean outlet so that i can eat without hurries, savour the moment....

Getting out of Office Feels SO GOOD! SO SHIOK!

Looking out for Ben Ben to pick me up...

Checked out this restaurant:

Ju Shin Jung @ East Coast.

It specialise in Korean BBQ and that was what i had.

Tried the Sirloin Set - $32
The Pork Belly Set - $22
Total Bill turned out to be $68.

Stuff into my BIG MOUTH!

A Happy Yenni After a Satisfying Meal.

Which reminds me of something my husband said many a times: You're the happiest when you are eating....

There is indeed certain level of truth in that statement.

Overall conclusion:

$ RAHTER EXPANSIVE $

But the food was rather good. The side dishes were plentiful and re-fillable. I especially like the cold toufu and the Jelly Fish.

The Korean Barley Tea is nice and cold. I drank so much of it!

Service was rather good. The Waitress cooked the Food for us.

Would be back when I feel RICH.

XOXOXOX

Pics @ Mt E....

Well... Does this Bring out the Mother insticnt in any of you???

Botak Jones on a Friday

The much raved about BOTAK JONES turns out to be a.....

DISMAY

Friday night at BOTAK JONES did not do me any Justice... The food does not sink in with my Palettes.

OR

Maybe its the expectation built from all the good reviews...

I checked out the outlet at:

Ang Mo Kio,
Yue Hua Food PlaceBlock 608 Ang Mo Kio Ave. 5

**** I must stress that the usual waiting time is ard 1/2 hour, but we were lucky. The food came in 15mins... :) ****

Dinner Started with Salads:

Caesar Salad is the best amoung the 3.. I can taste the anchovies used to make the dressing...

Then Mains:

Cajun Chicken

Australian Rib-Eye Steak

Fish and Chips

Roasmary Lamb Chops

I had the Steak and all i can say is PHIN's and Jack's Place beats this hands down...

Ben had the Cajun Chicken and it was as dry as a Sun Shined Sponge.... (Where the hell did a get this analogy from?.. it's just something that came into my mind...)

We Ended with BBQ Wings...

Well... The BBQ wings were relatively good...

BURP!

Additional notes: The Fries were just too many... The Coleslaw portion is too BIG BIG BIG!

However, here is the Website should you wanna check BOTAK JONES out...

http://www.botakjones.com/index.php

But one thing I must compliment is the condiments they provided... Beside the usual Chilli and Ketchup, They had Malt Vinegar, Mustard, BBQ sauce on evey table. That's very nice... I Simply love Vinegar with my fries.... :)

Alone With Yenni

Its a SAT and I have NO plans....

I thought it will be good to spend the day alone. Alone days are nice, where you get to do things well... ALONE.

You need not have to consider others feelings, need not have to give in to others demands, need not have to strike conversations, need not have to wait for others, need not have to compromise.

In return, you

Get to go where you like, Do what you want, Eat what you desire, At your own Pace and Interest.

In the end, I went to the NATAS fare, browsed the different Tour packages, Bought my Travel Insurances.

TIP: It is always good to buy travel insurance at NATAS as they have such good discounts!

I went for a foot Reflexalogy session myself, Had Carrot Cake and Latte at Coffee Bean as well...

It was nice to spend the SAT ALONE and even nicer to see my husband when i picked him up from work that Night... :)

******* A Beautiful Sat Alone *******
